Gustave Doré Bible

There has never been an illustrated Bible like the Gustaf Doré Illustrated Bible, and there has never been a Doré Bible like the extraordinary two-volume Edition Deluxe crafted in London in 1875.

The Easton Press creates a wonderful recreation of this publishing masterpiece in a special limited edition of just 800 hand-numbered sets.

Here is the full text of the Holy Bible in the beloved King James translation, presented in two dramatically oversized volumes, each measuring an expansive 15 and 1/2 inches tall by 11 inches wide, and each over 2 and 1/2 inches thick.

And here are all 238 breathtaking full-page engravings by Gustaf Doré, the 19th century's greatest illustrator. No single illustrator before or since has so dynamically captured the Bible's most memorable scenes: the Garden of Eden, Moses and the Ten Commandments, the Nativity and Crucifixion, the visions of Revelations, and much more.

The covers are made of genuine leather dyed to a lustrous black. The spine is deeply stamped in precious 22-karat gold. Gleaming gilded page ends add beauty, and the book features all the hallmarks of a true Easton Press volume.

The Doré Bible is enhanced with an illuminated section at the front in which you can record the important events in your family's history.

Only 800 copies of this landmark edition have been published.
