Bob Schieffer, a distinguished American journalist, was born on February 25, 1937, in Austin, Texas. Throughout his illustrious career spanning over five decades, Schieffer became one of the most respected figures in broadcast journalism, renowned for his integrity, insight, and journalistic acumen. Schieffer's journey into journalism began during his college years at Texas Christian University (TCU), where he worked for the student newspaper and radio station. After graduating with a degree in journalism, he embarked on a career in broadcasting, starting as a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

In 1965, Schieffer made the transition to television journalism, joining CBS News as a reporter in its Dallas bureau. His career at CBS News flourished, and he quickly rose through the ranks, covering some of the most significant events in modern American history, including the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the Watergate scandal. Schieffer's reputation as a trusted journalist continued to grow, and in 1973, he was named anchor of the weekend edition of the CBS Evening News. Over the years, he held various roles at CBS News, including White House correspondent and moderator of the Sunday morning news program Face the Nation. It was in his role as moderator of Face the Nation that Schieffer truly cemented his legacy as one of the preeminent political journalists of his time. Known for his incisive questioning and insightful analysis, he interviewed countless political leaders and newsmakers, providing viewers with a comprehensive understanding of the issues shaping the nation.
